International conference in Prešov

Carpathian Foundation Slovakia organized an international conference „The Way It Works“ in September, 26-27, in Prešov.

The conference was the main instrument for transfer of conclusions and recommendations achieved from research, round tables with multi-stakeholder discussions and meetings fostering dialogue between different stakeholders.

The conference helped to form cross-border platform for cooperation in the field of CSR in all target countries of the project helping to transfer information and experience to Ukraine as well. The cross-border platform will serve to search CSR topics of cross-border importance and their development to concrete cross-border partnerships and projects.

From the long time perspective it can serve as a tool for advocacy and lobbying, helping to create supportive environment for improvement of participation of businesses in solving economic, social and environmental problems in the communities of Carpathian region.

The outcome of the conference was proposal and approval of Declaration, as well as approval of the recommendations for further activities and for the continuity of the program that The Way It Works project has initiated.

More than 100 participants represented all partner organizations active in various project activities, as well as partners from four target countries (Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania), stakeholders from other European countries, including representatives of:
- partner organizations
- think tank organizations and other civil society organizations
- local and multinational enterprises
- government representatives
- representatives of business and professional associations
- representatives of universities and media
